I move beyond my area of comfort and find new ways of thinking that enrich my job.
Do I feel happy in my work, and at the same time feel an impulse, or be asked by my management, to try some new tasks – things that I have not done before? If I feel uncomfortable about expanding into these new areas, there is a simple solution for me.
In just a few moments I can stop moving, close my eyes, breathe and enter a silent time of prayer and meditation. This opens me to letting go of any anxiousness I feel, and allows the presence of God to fill me with direction and courage. I move into the unknown with anticipation.
If I am being approached today or at any time with a new task or assignment to work with customers, other employees, or a different process, I prepare myself with prayer and accept these new opportunities in my thoughts and actions. I am grateful for the expansion of my career.
”If you put yourself in a position where you have to stretch outside your comfort zone, then you are forced to expand your consciousness.” – Les Brown
